In 2021 we were invited by Ace & Tate do be part of their 'Same Day Glasses' campaign. During this campaign we served an Iced Matcha Blueberry drink for customers to enjoy while waiting for their new glasses.
They offered same-day prescriptions in-store, and between the eye test and picking up your frames, customers could visit Chun Café with their voucher and enjoy a complimentary drink.
How the drink came together
We chose a drink centered on matcha and blueberries, two ingredients known to support eye health. Matcha is vibrant, energising, and rich in antioxidants. Blueberries contain vitamin C and anthocyanin, which help maintain healthy vision and reduce eye strain and fatigue. Combined, they created a subtle, creamy drink with a beautiful green hue and a refreshing berry finish.
We tested the recipe and other ingredients, such as carrots, before landing on the final version. It had to feel balanced, not too sweet, and still let the matcha shine through. The process of testing, tasting, and adjusting is something we truly enjoy.
Rooted in community and care
The collaboration with Ace & Tate was about more than simply offering an antioxidant-rich drink. It was about creating a meaningful pause in the day. After selecting a new pair of glasses and while waiting for the final touches, customers were invited to enjoy a beverage that not only tasted great but also naturally supported eye health.
These quiet moments are rare for us nowadays. Usually, people are lining up at the café or grabbing something on the go. This time, however, we became part of a calm pause in their schedule. That is what truly stayed with us. We care about high-quality ingredients and meaningful experiences beyond the drink itself. The Iced Matcha Blueberry is one example of how we approach collaborations with creativity and purpose.
